couple of First times
finished watching 'sideways' way past four in the morning. my tito was leaving for masbate then and his flight was at 6. he was wonderin why i was still awake. well, the main reason was that i wanted to make sure i won't be late for this errand he asked me to do in binondo.
yes, binondo. never been there before and he's askin me to drop some stuff for his firm, all by myself. i asked help from my schoolmates who, i hoped, knew the place [thanks josh and milanie and to maps] and followed their advice- take lrt2 down to recto, and take a cab with binondo church as landmark. it was my first lrt2 ride down recto, my first time in binondo. and everything looked like colon street back in cebu only older and much much more packed. and everyone looked like they needed to sleep. i sure felt like i needed to sleep. but the fact that my tita's phone was with me and the stuff i was asked to drop was nowhere near cheap and that i'm in manila and that i got my phone stolen thrice already kept me awake all throughout the process.
on my lrt2 ride back to cubao, i felt more relaxed and accomplished. no one else could do such a feat with just an hour of sleep and a tiny chunk of binondo info. haha after, i went around gateway and saw a newly-opened branch of fully-booked. the whole store still needed arranging but i found a couple of quite interesting books. one was this star wars book filled with cool design sketches and stuff. i sure wish the 3rd episode would be much much better than the first two. waited for rj in taco bell with just chicken quesadillas and bottled water. the quesadillas seemed overcooked though, cantina's tasted better.
rj wanted to watch a movie. kingdom of heaven. i suggested finding neverland. but kingdom was hours away and finding wasn't of rj's interest so we went window shoppin and found nothin that fit my budget. i didn't really expect anythin. we ended up in burgoo instead and decided to try their burgers. the burger was good, service was not bad but the fact that you can color with crayons this huge piece of paper on your table was just great. then we parted ways and reached home in one piece, still with my tita's phone in my pocket, whew!
it takes lots of bad events to make you really grateful of the little things or of seemingly insignificant days. but i'm learning. and havin fun
now back to sideways... it is one light movie with a refreshing look at love and that everyone's got a chance. i think i got less than expected but some scenes were really funny. and i think paul giamatti was perfect for his role. tell me about it when you get to see it...
lisnin to this 'hot java jazz' starbucks album [it's got a really cute version of agua de beber]
sortof readin the P19million afp sidewalk article from inquirer
feelin kinda satisfied with self and life in general.

i tried watching it (sideways) on *pirated* dvd but i fell asleep.
i love that branch of fully booked in gateway. it's so... distressed. i hope they never fix it. ha ha ha... bought this book there on stupid laws like in lebanon, u can do it with a female animal but never with a male one <-that's punishable by death. but 'nuff about that.
i had 3 hours to kill and the chance to watch kingdom of heaven but like you, i only had a couple of hours of sleep and i wasn't about to pay money so i could fall asleep. it seems like a bore. :D
