on too much Thinking
too much of anything is bad. agreed on that since 3rd grade, it is etched in my memory with "just a spoonful of sugar" as background music [you know how certain memories have a song or a scent associated with them].
but what about too much thinking? geegee brought it up earlier as one of the most beautiful slaps in the face ever- i think too much.
so do i really? or better yet
when is thinking too much thinking?
i got this comment many times already. what makes geegee's different is the line right after: when you do, there's a chance that you miss the opportunity to act on it.
suddenly there are consequences. more than just wasted time or brain energy, opportunities are at stake too. interesting.
yes, i think about thinking. i admit i'm real fascinated about it. i admitted too back at glam 2006 for strains that i'm first a thinker, then a doer, then a speaker. hence, the do-nothing idea. from creativity to logic to insight, it's just interesting. i believe you can never think too much about thinking. great sir penrose of oxford would describe human thought as quantum processes, real complex.
so there, there are things you can think too much about and there are things you can not. to look at it plainly, maybe one thinks too much when you could actually analyze it in simpler terms. like when management consultants use jargon just to tell you you've got to train your employees. or when something well thought of already is explained further, touching on what is seemingly unnecessary.
but is there anything really well thought of already that you don't have to think about it further? that banana peeling on the sidewalk or playing tennis in the rain.
nada. but where's the fun in that?
now that draws the line. when it's not fun anymore one is thinking too much. fun for me is spongebob while fun for you is mad tv, fine with me. fun is good
so is thinking, even too much Thinking.
