pit Señor!

[from the sinulog foundation]

of my many memories of cebu's pride, the sinulog, it's the fact that the streets are always so clean the day after that makes me real proud.

it was around first year high school when i realize we shouldn't be dancing and going all crazy for a "miraculous" image of the baby Jesus and i still could remember debates with jb about why it ain't right. he isn't Catholic.

but for all it's worth, the sinulog is something that i am really really proud of.

maybe because lots of people wake up really early for something like this

or maybe because lots of people endure the heat of the sun for something like this

or maybe because lots of people, period. i always find it fascinating when lots of people do one thing. it sure is proof that we all could gather round and agree no matter how different we all are. even if it ain't really for that "miraculous image".

today, most of cebu are in her streets for the Sto. Niño, for Sinulog.
saying pit Senyor to you makes me feel like i'm also there.
lisnin to songs for a new world
sortof readin the web of inclusion
feelin kinda warm and relieved
