because Opposites attack
roofless footbridges are stupid. a total waste of resources.
i seriously thought of this when i was in gradeschool or something. i would argue that no one uses them because one either gets real heated up by the sun or all wet by the rain. i then would continue on mocking the stupid politician who is so proud of the stupid project, blatantly placing his stupid name on the stupid footbridge with no roof
for years that thought remained, locked into some part of my mind without me caring or consciously thinking about. then two or so years ago, i would notice a good number of streetpeople sleeping, staying, resting, maybe living on roofed footbridges.
and it dawned on me-
roofless footbridges are not stupid, i am. they were meant to aid pedestrians in crossing from one side of the road to the other and not to protect us from too much sunshine or rainwater. that is what umbrellas are for. it was a duh-karl moment.
this whole looking at many, usually opposing sides of anything is really a good thing. but if everyone does it all the time, there will be no need for lawyers. and so i question my career path again. even our theology teacher [and ice cream vica] questioned it. lawyers are meant to defend their side, no matter what the cost. only then will the pesos start flooding in. it isn't the most constructive profession in the world. seriously
that notion is noticeable too in this book called crimes against logic. i was so amazed when it cried "you do not really have the right to your opinion". when used in a discussion, the slogan "i'm entitled to my opinion" not only is irrelevant, it also is false. let's discuss it when i fully understand the thought.
for now, allow me to work on partido agila's campaign for sanggunian. yes, i am running, eager to join an organization i thought against when i first heard of it as a freshman. we shall see if it really is what it appears to be- dull, boring and filled with useless noise and whatnot. we'll see
so far so good. lisnin to Sweet Charity Minus Ones
