moment's statements

several months and 25 statements of the moment later,
the guy wins.

but if, like me, you found the phrase 'statement of the moment'
as tacky as high school musical,

it's because it is.
and i hid my rants and frustrations behind particular statements
that proved how even in the most developed corners of this world,

things can go wrong, things can get downright tacky,
things can be said when they shouldn't have been
and that even the most popular guys in the race
either have the worst jumpsuits, the most expensive haircuts or
a couple of flipflopping moments under their sleeves.

because, yes, all these are happening in a place that's an ocean away
and yes we have our own problems to deal with here.

but come on,
knowing they don't get it right all the time
is a good lesson

for every guy who insists that
ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES
does crap like this happen
or does crap like that get elected
or does crap like these are put to law

their elections have proven that
yes, ours isn't as good
but it's not that bad either.

i mean, come on
even the worst of us can name at least one newspaper right?
