jitters creepers

sometimes you wonder why you were worried in the first place.
you realize you were just concerned.

and a little concern every now and then never hurts.
that is why we get opening day jitters
or why we have i-really-want-this-job kind of job interview jitters
or why we look forward to hope-the-tailor-got-it-right jitters

but jitters can go over the top too.
the bart guingona himself shared his "secret" and he calls it

the status transaction
or how we be mindful of a switch in status
every time we go on stage.

he says we have to look at it as if your audience,
no matter how worthy of admiration they are,
can definitely learn something from you.

i say it's a good way of addressing status anxiety,
if you have any.

he said it during technical rehearsals for hsbc eco-business award presentations
and my fingers are crossed for the final presentations this thursday.

a little concern goes a long way.
