my apologies | a friendly letter

during one of many musical rehearsals, somebody once joked that I would be doing a Gloria and say I'm Sorry to the public as a leader in the future. little did i know how soon that joke would be realized. anyway, seriously now.
Dear fellow Atenean,

I take full responsibility for the confusion.

When people ask straight to me about the issue,
always my response is:

there is no dress code just yet.

Sadly, that isn't as sticky as a haircut-rule rumor.
and I failed to make it as official a statement as possible.

I was the first student told of the idea of a dress code for all members of the Loyola Schools, including faculty, staff, administration officials and students.
And I agreed with the conclusion that Dr. Cuyegkeng herself first bring up the idea to representatives in a plenary before even discussing it with anyone (the way we handled the changes in ORSEM last year, i.e. straight to org presidents).
That way there will only be one version of the story and that we settle it swiftly with all stakeholders involved.
Sadly, stories abound and we've heavily relied on the forum tomorrow for a solution.

Again, my apologies
and I pray you still have hope for Sanggunian.
but the fact that there is a big need to clarify
means there is something seriously wrong
with our information management systems.

Dialogue works.
And so see you tomorrow.

Animo Ateneo!

Karl Vendell Satinitigan

P.S. If you can't make it, your Rep will be pleased to forward your concerns.

dialogue only works if both parties are listening. thank you, at least for trying. but seeing how dr. cuyegkeng's mind was made up, maybe you can set up a student rebellion next time?
